I know I’m stating the obvious when I say that our country is messed up.  There are so many directions to point fingers and so many letters to write.  I am bewildered by my own complacency.

Today I took a rest during waning daylight and set my mind free to consider.  When does tendency become habit?  When does habit become custom?  I suppose these answers vary according to individual, but what about pertaining to a nation?

The answers are deep beyond my reasoning.  In this, I am content now to acknowledge that God’s will be done and His ways are not my ways, but are Higher.  I recognize what appears to be a precarious tumble but my spirit does not fear the fall. (I’m shaking a bit in my weakness of flesh to be sure.)

Such promises we have, God’s faith, God’s hope, God’s love!

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.    (1 Peter 5:10)stars

God determines the number of stars and calls them all by name.  Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.    (Psalms 147:4-5)babylon-41

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. (Romans 13:1)

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.  (Acts 17:24-28)
