let it rest.
close your eyes.
stretch your toes wide
and set them out, anchors.

your feet touch down
and meld with the earth.
your shins are strong
and their might steadies you.

your knees are neutral
but your thighs rise upward,
pillars reaching higher,
lengthening limbs of leg.

higher one cell at a time
reaching first in your mind,
breathing in fresh and
expelling over the shoulder.

the breath descends along
the spine and gently pulls
you long from tall and low
and stress flows outward.

you unfurl from both sides
as your muscles and skin
climb higher propelling your
chest upward with heart.

your shoulders reach back
as you maintain your stead.
they fall into more space
for the air to stretch your lungs.

draw your head back to its
natural post, weight dispersed
evenly upon its column
and lower your chin to humble.

secured in balance and
soothed by calm
reach consciously for the earth
while rising up free and detached.
