Grief of Loss

To lose one of our precious ones
wrinkles our dreams,
wrings our emotions,
wrenches our gut,
wraps our mobility,
wracks our nerves,
wrangles our perception,
wrestles our reason,
and wrecks our resolve.

The Hope:

While we mourn in grief of loss,
our all-knowing and loving God
deems the death of His godly ones precious.¹

…for while we are at home in our body
we are absent from the Lord,
walking by faith, not by sight,
with courage to say that we would
rather be absent from the body and
home with the Lord!²

² II Corinthians 5: 6-8
