Morning Light

07 14 13_5889

Powerful rays
slice the morning sky,
severing the night
with light of hope.

Night predators
scamper for cover,
day creatures
unfurl with an appetite.

Delicate petals
dewy moist,
are preserved for
morning’s breezy waltz.

Graceful flowers
with feathery sway,
entice hummingbirds
with morning nectar.

Glistening leaves
buffer the world’s blow,
hedging in a peace
that abides unseen.
