Grandmother

I know she wonders
what purpose God has for her life
in these years of blindness and fragility.

I try to remind her of all the love
that God has poured through her
to bless her family and friends.

When she declares that she sleeps
morning, noon, and night,
she is forgetting that she has many naps
to make up for.

She is cautious and careful
and I am still learning from her living
that love is vast and grace is enough.
