Faith To Soar

If I had some measure of faith
I would rise up and soar,
stepping off at your door
when it pleased me.

I may have faith for the leap
but not the flight.
Could I keep our Lord in my sight
for two thousand miles?

That which is not of faith….
well, it’s sin.
This is where I must always begin
to acknowledge my great need.

Friendship’s bond
spans distance and silence
renewing its reliance
on the Faith of God shared.
